This SSSTS course introduces site supervisors to their responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. The course provides the delegate with an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. This course is suitable for site supervisors or supervisors to be.
The United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) recognises this course as meeting the required standard for all managers working on UKCG sites.
Accreditation – CITB
Duration – 2 days
Grant – you can claim up to £70 if you provide us with your CITB Levy number.
Validation – SSSTS certificates are valid for 5 years, you will need to sit a SSSTS refresher before your 5 years is up.
Entry requirements – there are no formal entry requirements. However, the delegate is to be proficient in English (written and oral).

Course objectives, by the end of the delegate will:
– Have gained knowledge and skills in the Health and Safety at Work Act.
– Understand how to manage day-to-day challenges.
– Have a greater understanding of why they are carrying out their identified duties and what is expected of them on site.
– Know how to better contribute to the safety of the workplace.
The SSSTS is a highly interactive course; which uses various methods of teaching including case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations. You will also be required to take an exam.
Further development/ qualifications – CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS), you may also want to consider progressing onto the Construction Site Supervisor course or the NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision.
