This is a classroom-based course which ensures that delegates are competent and safe when using a ladder or step ladder. The course will also teach delegates when it is an appropriate situation to use a ladder/stepladder. If you use a ladder in your occupation, attending this course will be beneficial to your safety and the safety of those around you.
The course will cover topics that will enable the delegate to be more aware of current legislation and regulations relating to the inspection of ladders and step ladders, it will also help delegates identify the difference between pre-pse and formal inspections. Other topics included on the course – ladders & component parts, inspection procedure & documentation and maintenance and repairs.
The ladders & step ladder course is not industry specific, it is suitable for anyone in any sector that use ladders and work at heights as part of their daily duties.
Accreditation – Akan Technical Training
Duration – 1/2 day
Validation – there is no expiry on the ladder & step ladder certificate, however it is highly recommended you take a refresher every 2-3 years to keep up to date with any legislative and procedural changes.
Entry requirements – there are no formal entry requirements. However, the delegate is to be proficient in English (written and oral).

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
– accurately record details of Ladders and Step Ladders
– assess when it is appropriate to inspect a Ladder or Step Ladder
– record findings and recommend if any action needs to be taken if faults are found
